Grand Asoke Suites Boutique Residence

We booked the room for 2 weeks but in fact left for 5 days to fly to Koh Samui and kept the room since it was prepaid. It is a big room (plus bedroom divided by a sliding door) for a hotel and has a little balcony. There was a big fridge, a washing machine and a small cooker. We never cook during holidays, so didn't use it. The wifi was excellent, so was the breakfast buffet. The bed was big, the mattress very comfortable. Free water bottles every day! The shower was very big. The bathroom a good size. As for towel changes see my Koh Samui review, same applies here. All the staff members were very helpful and very friendly and service oriented which I haven't experienced at that level ever in places I've been to before except Koh Samui. It's only a short walk of about 400 m or so to public transport, restaurants and the Pier 21 shopping center. The hotel offers a free ride with a nice tuk tuk to just short of the shopping center which came in handy since Bangkok was in the grip of a heatwave. There's a nice rooftop pool which I didn't use but it looked inviting. The breakfast room is at that level as well as a gym which I didn't use. I know people don't book a room for watching other people at their daily business of life. But I am a person to enjoy seeing locals doing things other than doing them for paying guests. So every early morning I saw a young Thai woman doing the hula hoop ring exercise and a young Thai man doing some walking exercise under the one big tree in front of my balcony (different property and we were on level 5). I saw a woman washing clothes in an assortment of plastic bowls daily (perhaps for a living?) and of course my secret friend the skinny squirrel. I thought it was not only interesting but also a respite from the noise and traffic of a big city.

That was my 2nd stay at this property and I was happy to see that it has not changed a bit, with the same highest quality of service standards. Its location is unbeatable- right in the center of a very vibrant neighborhood, yet in a very quite area, surrounded by numerous dining and shopping options; the ambience and rooms with excellent bathrooms are of superb quality, clean and spacious, they give one a agreat chance to rest; rooms are equipped with all the amenities to ensure a decent stay and self-cooking if need be; the staff is extremely helpful and cooperative and with a good command of English- to this effcet I would liek to commend the receptionist team for their prompt and efficient assistance in helping me print out documents and allowing an extra hour for a late check-out. Last but not least, the on-site pool and restaurant offer a good opportunity to unwind among the city'shustle and bustle.

I was impressed by the hospitality of the young man at check-in and the woman at check-out. I would like to stay here again.

Nice location, very friendly staff and big spacious room. We used the pool a lot and really enjoyed it. Nice gym aswell.
